How to Find Your iPhone IP Address

See where to find your iPhone’s local IP address on Wi‑Fi networks and how that differs from your public IP.

Checking IP Address in iPhone Settings

On an iPhone, open Settings, tap Wi‑Fi, and then tap the info icon (i) next to your connected network. Under the IPv4 Address section, you will see your current IP address, subnet mask, and router.

If IPv6 is enabled on the network, additional IPv6 details may appear further down the page. These addresses are local to the network you are currently using.

Understanding Local vs. Public IP on iPhone

The IP address shown in Wi‑Fi settings is usually a private address assigned by your router, such as 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x. This is different from the public IP that websites see when your iPhone uses that network.

To view the public IP, you can open Safari and visit an IP-checking site. If you use a VPN on your iPhone, the IP shown online will belong to the VPN provider rather than your home router.

Troubleshooting IP Address Issues on iPhone

If your iPhone shows a self-assigned address or cannot get an IP, try toggling Wi‑Fi off and back on, forgetting and rejoining the network, or restarting the router. You can also tap “Renew Lease” on the Wi‑Fi details page to request a fresh configuration.

Persistent issues may indicate problems with the router’s DHCP server or with network security settings that prevent the iPhone from obtaining an address.
